For the four-year-old Areion son Calif, bred by the Brümmerhof Stud, Oliver St. Lawrence Bloodstock had the last bid at 400,000 Euros. Calif, who proved himself as a two-time Group winner in the Brunner Oettingen-Rennen (Gr.II) and the Kronimus Badener Meile (Gr.III) this year, is the best offspring of the Group III winner and classically placed Rock of Gibraltar mare Cherry Danon, who produced three more Listed winners and is of interest as a daughter of the Schlenderhaner Monsun mare Sherifa, who in turn is recommended as the right sister of the Listed winner and multiple Stakes dam Sommernacht.
