Online Seminar: Understanding and Strategically Using Race Conditions – with Gerald Geisler

On June 18, 2025 at 7:00 PM (CEST), the 3forONE Academy will host an exclusive online seminar featuring renowned German racehorse trainer Gerald Geisler. The focus of the event: How to read and strategically use race conditions to identify the right races for each horse and build long-term success on the track.

Race conditions (also known as race entries or race declarations) are the strategic foundation of every race campaign in Thoroughbred racing. However, many owners and newcomers struggle to interpret the published conditions correctly—especially when navigating national and international regulations. In this live session, Gerald Geisler will explain how to read race conditions efficiently, what formal and athletic criteria determine eligibility, and how to align a horse’s individual strengths with the specific demands of a race.

A key focus will be placed on long-term career planning: Which races are suitable for development? How can form cycles be shaped strategically? And how can certain race requirements be used to a horse’s competitive advantage?

Using practical examples and clearly explained terminology—such as "maiden races", "handicaps", "weight-for-age", or "ground conditions"—Gerald Geisler will provide a structured overview of the most important aspects to consider when selecting a race. Differences between German, French, and international racing jurisdictions will also be addressed.

This online seminar is designed for racehorse owners, trainers, jockeys, breeding professionals interested in the racing side, and motivated newcomers who want to gain a deeper understanding of how race conditions work and how to use them for better strategic decision-making.

At the end of the session, participants will have the opportunity to ask their own questions directly to Gerald Geisler during the live Q&A.
