OUTINGS - Every Thursday, open-air guinguette atmosphere
During the month of August, every Thursday from 3.30pm (3pm on Thursday 7 July), horse races will take place in the late afternoon (semi-nocturnal). And as soon as the races are over, the large shaded terrace of the Black Type restaurant, located in the heart of the Deauville-La Touques racecourse, will be transformed into a guinguette.
The atmosphere will be renewed every Thursday with a programme of singers, DJs, jazz bands and even a saxophonist, inviting you to continue the evening in a musical atmosphere until 11pm.
THE PROGRAMME - 10 themed days during the Deauville Barrière Meeting 2025
In addition to the Deauville Barrière Meeting race programme, several themed days are open to the public. All the more reason to come and return to the Deauville-La Touques racecourse:
Sunday 3 August: Official opening of the Deauville Meeting. A ribbon will be cut just before the gates open at 12 noon;
Tuesday 5 August: Secours Populaire day with around a hundred children invited to discover the world of racing while having fun. They will take part in a giant flashmob in the aisles of the racecourse;
Thursday 7, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 August: French Pony Racing Championship events;
Tuesday 12 August: Racing and Breeding Staff Awards Day, during which those involved in the industry on a daily basis will be honoured;
Thursday 14 August: Longines Equestrian Challenge Normandie Day, featuring friendly competitions between teams of riders and jockeys;
Thursday 21 August: A day highlighting the retraining of racehorses, with a parade of former champions who have switched to new sports, organised by the Au-Delà des Pistes association. This day will also feature the Course des Légendes, which will see former jockeys known to Deauville horse racing fans take to the saddle;
Thursday 28 August: Throughout the year, all races are mixed, with both male and female jockeys on the starting line. But once a year, one race is exclusively reserved for female jockeys: the Quinté des femmes!
Saturday 30 August: The racecourse will close the Deauville Barrière Meeting with a spectacular visual and musical show accompanied by a DJ set. Visitors will be able to enjoy the atmosphere until 11pm in the racecourse grounds. This day will also feature the Lucien Barrière Grand Prix de Deauville and the final of the Jockeys' Championship.
SPORT - The 2025 Jockeys' Championship
Every summer, the Deauville Barrière Meeting brings together the best jockeys, who also enjoy competing in the highly anticipated Jockeys' Championship and being crowned Best Jockey of the Deauville Meeting.
The principle of this Championship is simple: In each race, from first to third place, jockeys will accumulate points. For Group races, the highest
level of the Galop sports programme, the number of points awarded for wins and places will be multiplied!
